He could be a totally fine person. But he is also this person. Past and present pseudonyms include Andy Blake, thanfiction, Victoria Bitter, Amy Player, and Jordan Wood. Read the blog post at that link, and read this: A Letter To The DAYDians: My Life With Andrew Blake Laid Bare.

andythanfiction writes great SPN and Destiel meta but there’s something about his self-righteous tone in posts like this that really pisses me off, considering his past. And his past is not that far in the past. So I decided to post this in the hopes that people at least share the link around. Please read that article and read the links and be aware who’s lecturing you on how to treat actors. And if you want a really interesting read and a history of this guy’s past cons, frauds, manipulations and lies, read this book: When A Fan Hits The Shit, or at least click that link and read the book description. Or click here and read the short version, insofar as this story can be short.

It’s no exaggeration to say that Andy Blake/Jordan Wood/Victoria Bitter has left lives ruined. As recently as 2011 he was present during fatal shootings. Turimel, who wrote the book linked above, shares her thoughts on those shootings here. Do not think of this guy as a victim. Read the accounts of those he has left behind him and understand who he really is. Or at least who he has been until very recently.

Please, Destiel fandom, read andythanfiction’s meta all you like, but know who you’re dealing with. And let other people know. You never know when someone like this will spot their next mark, so I write this post in the hopes that it will be shared and maybe it will save someone from being Victoria Bitter’s next target. Luckily I have had nothing to do with him but I do know vulnerable people and I know the chaos a person like this can cause in lives. So please, if you see this post, share it.

I’ve written articles dealing with Andrew Blake’s past—a two-part comparison on cult mentality and unhealthy roleplaying environments, and a recent rundown of the 10 greatest fandom wanks of all time. After the FW article, he emailed me. In the course of our conversation, I suggested to him that more information from his POV might help us understand where he was coming from and judge more fairly whether he has truly changed; however, he had what he believed were good and honorable reasons for not wanting to speak publicly about his past. So as it stands, the information we have on him is fully historically documented, but largely missing his POV. So take all of this as you will, but above all, STAY SAFE.

I believe that you can always change and that Andrew Blake deserves to be given the chance to change; however, I also think that the ways he’s been speaking recently about his conviction that Destiel is endgame, as well as the whole “vessel” thing, are markedly similar to his previous patterns of blogging/writing/preaching during the Jordan Wood years.

Echoing the OP, I highly, HIGHLY recommend reading Abbey Stone’s account of living with Andrew (then Jordan), because it’s a really heartbreaking and harrowing account of a girl who underwent extreme emotional abuse and lost her entire sense of identity while living with him. The reason I use the word “cult” in connection with Andrew Blake is because his former housemates’ experiences mirror the experiences of cult victims, and “cult” is the word they use to describe their group dynamic. If you are planning on meeting up with Andrew Blake in real life, then reading Abbey Stone’s account of her time living with him is ESSENTIAL to your safety. I can’t overstate this enough. Her account is spread over many posts tagged on her blog, but here are the major posts relevant to Andy’s friends:

2) Why I Don’t Believe in God - a 5-part breakdown of the religious ideas Andrew espoused, for anyone interested in studying his language then and now

Again, I would ask for people to stay open minded and aware, but PROCEED WITH CAUTION, especially any of you who are talking with him over the phone or IM and/or meeting up with him in person. Be safe, and if you get a niggling feeling in your gut telling you that something’s wrong, trust it. As someone who was briefly recruited by a serious cult when i was in college, I can tell you firsthand how important that advice is. That feeling of danger is unmistakable, and it will tell you more than any post on the Internet ever could.

It’s hard to comprehend how people believe this but Andy Blake is a consummate manipulator. Cashing in on people’s generosity and fannish enthusiasm is his part of his MO and apparently he’s at it again.
